Live with Passion & Enjoy Winning!

June 19, 2008

Do you wake up most mornings dreading the day, wondering
what you are going to do or anticipating the usual
challenges at home, at work, at church or in your community
group? And while these thoughts go through you mind do you
think “that’s normal”, “that’s what everyone is going
through”, “that’s my portion”, “I ought to be grateful
because I have more than most people have any way!” If you
can resonate with these thoughts, I have news for you!

The past couple of weeks I have been sharing on the
“Dynamics of a Winning Buy-In” That is the forces that
cause people to buy your GPSI (Goods, Products, Services or
Ideas) Those dynamics are Perks, Passion, Persuasion and
Persistence. No matter your profession, there is always an
opportunity to share your GPSI and the more often you can
get others to buy-in to it; the more impact you make in
your world, the more you enjoy life and the more eager you
become to jump out of bed in the morning!

This week I share on the force of passion. (Previous
editions of this series are available at
www.excellentimage.org in the Excellent Edge Newsletter
section) The dictionary describes passion as “any powerful
or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate”
(http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/passion) My
definition of passion for this series is “totally loving
and believing in your GPSI and totally hating the problem
that your GPSI can solve.

There a number of examples in history of men and women who
were passionate about their GPSI. Dr. Martin L. King was
passionate about his dream to see his four little children
live in a nation where they would not be judged by the
color of their skin but by the content of their character.
He hated prejudice and loved the idea of equality for all
men and was able to begin a civil rights movement as a
result of this passion. Lord Jesus (John 17)had a dream to
reconcile man to God. He hated the separation of man from
God and loved the idea of reconciliation. It has been over
2000 years since Jesus died and men are still being
reconciled to God!

Lord Jesus and Dr. King were both passionate about their
cause. I believe they jumped out of bed every morning
energized by the passion of their dream despite the many
odds they encountered from day to day. Their passion drove
them to take risks, persist and overcome great obstacles
for causes that still impact our world today.

Your GPSI is a catalyst for impact in your environment. It
could change the course of the way things are done, not
only for your good but as a service to your home, church,
community or government. I challenge you today to take a
critical look at your GPSI. Fall passionately in love with
it and step out and change your world!

Till next week, determine to live every day with passion!
